South West Slopes contracting, done properly.
HOW IT STARTED
Built during the hard years.

Rob McColl grew up in agriculture and built his career in it - earning a Farm Business degree before spending years managing in corporate farming operations across NSW & QLD.

During the millennium drought, when many were pulling back, Rob identified an opportunity: precision chop silage and broadacre contracting was in short supply on the South West Slopes, and demand from livestock producers wasn't going anywhere.

IFS was established in February 2007. In the years since, it's grown steadily - expanding the equipment fleet, adding planting and spraying capability, and building a client base that returns every season, not because they have to, but because the work is done right.

What makes IFS different
More than horsepower.
A lot of contractors can swing a machine. Rob brings something different: a Farm Business degree, 25 years of hands-on experience in cropping and livestock production, and a real understanding of how feed quality connects to animal performance.

IFS helps clients on fodder crop planting preparation, silage timing, inoculant application, not just harvesting. The business has worked with international corporate farming groups and small family operations alike, and the approach is the same either way: show up on time, do the job properly, and care about the outcome.
Accredited Lallemand inoculant contractor — world-class silage science, not just horsepower.

Get the timing
right
Reliable. Every season.
We understand how the feed performs and we understand livestock. Our silage work is informed by how the feed will perform in the bunker and in the paddock, not just how it looks coming off the harvester.
Narrow windows. We don't miss them.
Â
There's a narrow window for quality silage and quality seeding. We plan our seasons carefully and commit to getting on country when it matters, not when it's convenient.
We work together with our clients. That's the deal.

That's a responsibility we take seriously. Modern equipment, maintained properly, operated by people who know what they're doing.
